What is Black Diamond’s story?
Picture it…May of 2020. Champaign, IL.
We are at the beginning of the COVID lockdown and the maintenance company that Neves Group Property Management had been using since the beginning the business decided to close its doors unexpectedly. I thought, “Sure, no problem! I can find someone to do this work for Neves! How hard can it possibly be?”
Wrong…dead wrong!
Prices and minimums were too high. Property owners began complaining and I was scrambling, stressing and spinning my wheels trying to figure out what to do. Then one day, the light bulb went off and I realized that I have been running a successful property management business for 22 years! Why in the hell could I not run a successful maintenance company?!? Within the day I had a new LLC in process, contacted my insurance agent and put an ad on indeed. I started hiring and Black Diamond Maintenance was born on Oct 15, 2020.
We have grown from just a couple of techs to averaging 10+ depending on the season. My mission for my Black Diamond staff is that they enjoy coming to work, that they feel supported and they remember that their family life is way more important than any job. In return I simply ask for quality work, honesty and loyalty.
Why is Black Diamond named Black Diamond? I love black diamond jewelry, it’s my favorite!
